Bethan Ash is a full-time quilt artist living in West Glamorgan, South Wales
After studying dress design at Art College, she specialised and graduated with a fellowship in shoe design, subsequently working as a designer in the fashion industry.
Following the birth of her son she became interested in quilt-making and has subsequently been painting fabric and making art quilts since the 1980's.
Her work has been shown in many solo and group exhibitions, both at home and abroad and it has been acquired by public establishments in the UK and US, including the Museum of Art and Design (MAD), New York.
As well as exhibiting internationally, she has given workshops on contemporary quilt making that encourages the public to use their intuition and enjoy the process of building fused collage and working spontaneously.
Her work has been written about extensively and Bethan has published two books about improvised quit art making.
