The arrival of lockdown mean that illustrator Jennifer Hawkyard (otherwise known as Jezhawk) was able to work on something she’s wanted to do for years - an illustrated botanical diary. Every day of May she wandered through the remote fields and footpaths where she lived and documented the flowers she saw on her travels. These were then painstakingly illustrated in watercolour and gouache and then upon returning home research was done to look into some of the floral lore, old mythology associated with the flowers as well as their herbal uses. You can view the full journal on her website or visit her open studio in Cardigan!
