I grew up in Carmarthen, and I can honestly say that by the time I was

eight years old, I knew that I was going to do something creative with my

life. I was never really sure what, but that didn’t matter; it was enough at

that stage to know that I was at my happiest when I was making.

In my teens, dungareed and never without my sketchbook, Origin was

the only place in town where you could see original art, made by ‘real’

artists. There was no gallery in Carmarthen at the time, and I remember

many instances of gazing in, ‘sweet shop window’ style, looking at the

work of ‘proper’ artists.

And fast forward many years, and many life experiences later, I am

happy that my life has taken me on another full circular journey (There

have been many of those lately, but that’s another story/blog post!) and

brought me here. I am proud and excited to be at Origin as a member

artist, and look forward to finding out what being a ‘proper’ artist is all

about!
